IMA Thumb Brake System

IMA Special Parts is very proud to launch its new product dedicated to the enthusiasts of the motorbike world: the TBS, an applicative system for thumb rear brake.

The Thumb Brake introduced a new bike riding style that offers great advantages, first of all a better braking feeling, given by the thumb. Recently this riding style became a popular trend for track enthusiasts, in fact, once learned the correct handling of the lever, the TBS lets you control the bike even while cornering and manage the bike power once out of the curve.

The strength of TBS is in the flexibility of its structure that allows multiple setting and adjusting possibilities to optimize the space exploitation on the bike (the evaluation of the spaces available on the bike for mounting the TBS has to be done by the customer before purchasing). Thanks to the 4 setups offered (Base, Elite, Racing, Complete) this product can be applied both on the bar tube and the fork, and also allows to reuse the OEM rear master cylinder, avoiding additional costs (provided that the OEM master cylinder is among the supported models).

For people who also wants to maintain the pedal brake in addition to the thumb brake. With this option, the customer must move the rear OEM master cylinder to the front (installed on TBS) and install the special IMA master cylinder to the pedal. Also in this case, we offer Racing B/Racing F versions (bar/fork installing).

Includes IMA billet master for both thumb and foot brakes. 

Offered with either a fork mount or a bar mount (no-cost option; select your preference - fork mounts don't require available space on the clip-on, and you get an extra axis of adjustment, so we generally prefer them) and in 3 versions (the only difference between these is additional IMA master cylinder(s) included in the Racing and Complete kits):

– Base – TBS kit, NO master cylinder (to use the OEM rear master cylinder at the thumb, if the m/c is suitable - check with us if you're not sure)

– Racing – TBS kit, one IMA master cylinder (for either deleting the foot brake if the OEM m/c isn't being fitted to the thumb, or if using the OEM m/c at the thumb you can keep the foot brake as well as the thumb.  The IMA master cylinders have a built-in junction valve, so they are suited to using in-line between the thumb and the caliper).

– Complete – TBS kit, two IMA master cylinders (for using an IMA m/c at the thumb and at the foot)

Also available is a reservoir kit, which contains a small genuine Brembo reservoir, a bendable 'ladybird' bracket from KurveyGirl, two Brembo spring clips and a length of Tygon brake tubing.

A HEL brake line can be ordered from us.  We stock a small range of colours and lengths, suitable for most fitments, or for special colours etc we can get them made-to-order, which will take a couple of days.
